Organization of American Firefighters held a meeting with NFPA’s President

Jim Pauley, President of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), received the representatives of Organization of American Firefighters for a work meeting.

As part of the delegation trip to the city of Chicago (USA) to participate in NFPA Conference & Expo 2015, the team led by its Coordinator, Dr. Javier Ferlise, held a  meeting with  the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and its President, Jim Pauley. The meeting also was attended by Philip Stittleburg, Chairman of the Board at NFPA; Olga Caledonia, International Affairs Executive Director at NFPA; Maria Fernanda Rumbea, Legal Director of Cuerpo de Bomberos de Guayaquil; and colleagues.

In this productive session there were major advances in the project of delivering joint courses under NFPA standards. The institution provided advice on the implementation of these standards, which will result in improvements to american firefighter’s training. OAF, meanwhile, shared information on the Argentina experience in collecting local, national and regional statistics.

These new standards will be applied from this year on, reason why from the 5th to 7th of October in the city of Guayaquil (Ecuador) will take place the course “Standards NFPA 1 and Incident Command System”.
